Help Researchers Understand Post-Aortic Dissection Care Across the UK & Ireland

We know from conversations within our patient community that care following an Aortic Dissection can be a significant concern. Patients often tell us about very different experiences after leaving hospital, including differences in follow-up, ongoing monitoring, access to specialist support and the information they receive about living with Aortic Dissection.

Researchers at the University of Leicester are now seeking people who have experienced an Aortic Dissection to complete a short survey about their postoperative care and ongoing management.

Understanding variations in care

The study is examining variations in care across the UK and Ireland, looking at the levels of support and management offered to patients following an Aortic Dissection.

Its aim is to understand whether postoperative management is standardised across different regions and how the care patients receive compares with current standards of best practice.

The research is being carried out by a team from the University of Leicester, including Mr Harjeet Rayt, Professor Rob Sayers and Mrs Tanya Payne.

Share your experience

If you have experienced an Aortic Dissection, the researchers would like to hear about the postoperative care you received.

The survey takes approximately 10 minutes to complete and is anonymous. You will not be asked for your name or contact details.

The researchers will ask for some information including your age and sex, where you live, where you were treated and some basic health information such as your blood pressure. This information will help the team understand whether there are differences in postoperative care and management across the UK and Ireland.

By sharing your experience, you can contribute to a better understanding of how people are cared for following Aortic Dissection and help researchers identify where improvements may be needed.
