Singer/songwriter Blythe's new single It Could Be Now, released today, is a deeply personal reflection on living with a Type B Aortic Dissection caused by the genetic condition Vascular Ehlers-Danlos Syndrome (VEDS). It was recorded in collaboration with Swedish musician Jarly at his studio in Stockholm.

Blythe, a member of national patient charity Aortic Dissection Awareness UK & Ireland, explains: "It Could Be Now is a super personal song to me - the lyrics have become a kind of credo for my life. When Jarly and I met in Belgium last year, I told him the story behind it and we both knew straight away this song had to be written. We got together in January at his studio in Stockholm and this song in particular just wrote itself in a morning".
"It's all about having an aortic dissection and living with VEDS - never knowing when the ol' grim reaper might pull the plug. I am inspired by all the other survivors I've met in the charity and our fantastic message: Today Is A Good Day. The song is kind of about that - making the most of what we have despite the uncertainty of life, which we are all a little bit more aware of than others."
Gareth Owens, Chair of the patient charity, said "This is a banging dance tune inspired by the unique experience of an Aortic Dissection survivor. The beat, Blythe's pure-gold voice and the powerful lyrics about living in the moment and just enjoying it because we never know what might happen are perfect for losing yourself on the dance floor."
