Irish Aortic surgeon receives Patients' Choice Award

Mr. Saleem Jahangeer, Consultant Cardiothoracic Surgeon at St. James's Hospital, Dublin received the Patients' Choice Award at a hospital staff recognition awards ceremony in December.
Since arriving at St. James's, Mr. Jahangeer has been at the forefront of Aortic care and is well-known to our Irish patient members, who speak very highly of the service they receive from the St. James's Aortic clinic. Bernadette Nolan, a former Ireland representative of the national patient charity Aortic Dissection Awareness UK & Ireland, said "This is such a well-deserved award. Mr. Jahangeer is a lovely man and his care for my husband after his aortic dissection has been outstanding". Mr. Jahangeer also hosted the charity's annual flagship event Aortic Dissection Awareness Day Ireland in 2022 and 2023. It will return to St. James's Hospital again in September 2024.
