19th September 2016 marked a special beginning – the first-ever AD Awareness Day UK as part of the global AD Awareness Day initiative instigated by Swedish AD survivor Timo Söderlund.

With assistance from our sponsors Heart Research UK and our good friend Prof. John Pepper (the first clinician ever to speak at AD Awareness Day UK), 20 patients, relatives and healthcare professionals with an interest in Aortic Dissection met, talked about the challenges of diagnosis and treatment and developed a vision to raise awareness of Aortic Dissection across the UK.
